Refresh an Existing Whiteboard with ReMARKable® Whiteboard Paint
- Clean the surface thoroughly to remove all ink and residue.
- Mask-off adjacent areas with easy-release painter’s tape.
- Apply 2-3 thin coats of ReMARKable® Base Paint. Wait 3-4 hours between coats to ensure proper sealing and adhesion. Use a 1/4″ nap roller for best results on smooth surfaces. Wait at least 24 hours after the final coat.
- Apply one coat of ReMARKable® Whiteboard Paint using a 3/8″ nap microfiber roller. Use a 2″ sponge brush for detailed edge work.
- Remove tape 3-4 hours after application.
- Wait 48-hours before use. Pair with low-odor dry erase markers and a microfiber cloth for easy, clean erasing.
Convert Desks or Work Surfaces into Writable ReMARKable® Zones
- Clean and dry surfaces thoroughly.
- Mask off surrounding areas as needed.
- Apply 2-3 thin coats of ReMARKable® Base Paint. Wait 3-4 hours between coats. Use a 1/4″ nap roller for smooth surfaces. Let final coat dry for at least 24 hours.
- To get the best results, position the surface vertically during application. Lean the desk or table against a wall or support it upright to activate the self-leveling properties.
- Apply one coat of ReMARKable® Whiteboard Paint using a 3/8″ nap microfiber roller. Use a 2″ sponge brush to cut around edges.
- Remove tape 3-4 hours after application.
- Allow 48 hours before using dry erase markers. For best results, use with a microfiber cloth and low-odor markers.

Refresh Whiteboard Walls with ReMARKable®
(For smooth surfaces with no holes or patching required)
- Wipe all ink and residue from the wall.
- Mask surrounding areas as needed.
- Lightly sand the surface with 220 grit sandpaper to scuff and remove any staining.
- Once smooth, clean, and dry, apply one coat of ReMARKable® Whiteboard Paint using a 3/8″ nap microfiber roller. Use a 2″ sponge brush for the edges if needed.
- Remove painter’s tape 3-4 hours after application.
- Wait 48 hours before use. Works best with low-odor dry erase markers and a microfiber closth.
Restore Damaged Whiteboard Walls with ReMARKable®
(For smooth surfaces that require patching before repainting)
- Clean the wall and remove all ink.
- Mask off nearby areas.
- Lightly sand the surface with 220 grit sandpaper to scuff, etch, and remove stains.
- Use paintable patching material to fill holes, dents, or surface damage. Once dry, sand the patched areas smooth.
- Apply a water-based primer over the patched areas to seal them.
- Apply 2 thin coats of ReMARKable® Base Paint, waiting 3-4 hours between coats. Use a 1/4″ nap roller and allow 24 hours for the final coat to dry.
- Apply one coat of ReMARKable® Whiteboard Paint with a 3/8″ nap microfiber roller. Use a 2″ sponge brush for the edges if needed.
- Remove painter’s tape 3-4 hours after application.
- Wait 48 hours before writing. Use low-odor dry erase markers and a microfiber cloth for easy cleanup.
Convert an Old Chalkboard into a ReMARKable® Whiteboard
- Remove all chalk dust and make sure the surface is clean and dry.
- Mask off the surrounding frame or wall areas.
- Apply 2-3 thin coats of ReMARKable® Base Paint, waiting 3-4 hours between coats. This seals the porous surface and creates a smooth base. Use a 1/4″ nap roller for best results. Let the final coat dry for at least 24 hours.
- Apply one coat of ReMARKable® Whiteboard Paint with a 3/8″ nap microfiber roller. Use a 2″ sponge brush for cutting in around the edges.
- Remove painter’s tape 3-4 hours after application.
- Wait 48 hours before writing on the surface. Use low-odor dry erase markers and a microfiber cloth for easy erase.

Decide On Your Color

Apply Proper Base Paint
Use ReMARKable®’s recommended Preferred-Base-Paints to prep your surface. White is required under the white kit. Clear kits can go over many colors. Use a 1/4″ nap roller for smooth, even coverage.
Apply ReMARKable® Whiteboard Paint
